Dear Members and Friends of EMIL,
As we step into the year 2025, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a year filled with hope, resilience, and renewal. This moment offers us an opportunity to reflect on the challenges we faced in 2024 and to envision a brighter future for Lebanon—a future that begins with each of us.
The past year has tested our nation in unprecedented ways. Yet, it has also reminded us of the enduring spirit of the Lebanese people. As we approach the pivotal presidential elections in January 2025, we stand at a crossroads. This is not just an election; it is a chance to redefine our path and rebuild a Lebanon that prioritizes governance, transparency, and the well-being of its citizens.
To build this new Lebanon, we must commit to strengthening state institutions and eradicating corruption. It is time to modernize and digitalize our systems, moving away from outdated practices that rely on paper and pen for essential formalities and even the election of MPs. This is not merely a technical upgrade; it is a fundamental shift toward accountability, efficiency, and inclusivity.
We must also recognize the vital role of our youth in shaping this transformation. The new generation is eager, capable, and ready to take on the mantle of leadership. Let us create the space for their voices to be heard and their ideas to flourish. It is time to unzip the coat of old corruption and embrace the fresh energy and innovation that our young minds bring.
